1) Kids are awake late into the night
Every day the children in the city are awake until midnight. Why? I don’t know. In the Czech Republic we have a short night fairytale at 7pm and afterwards, small kids are going to sleep. Here it is different. Parents are having fun in a pub and children are playing in the playground.
2) Parties start about midnight
Some more information about parties and going to the pubs... People normally have dinner about 9 pm and after they go home to change the clothes and prepare themselves. After they are ready to go to the party –at about 11/12 pm and the party normally finish about 3am. During the week. Craziness.
3) Brazilian time
Brazilians are late. Almost every time. It is normal to wait at least 15 minutes for somebody and next 10 min for somebody else. It is just normal. J Friends of mine study at the state university and there is “rule” that professors come 20/30 min after the beginning of class or sometimes they just don’t arrive. They have a lot of time here. I don’t think it is something bad but for me it is something unimaginable to live in. :)
4) Smartphones
Brazil is the first country where I can see so many people addicted to their mobile phones. Almost everybody owns his smartphone and spend all their time with it. During the morning, during the afternoon.. all day all night. J
5) Paper kites
The other people, who aren’t rich enough to buy smartphone are playing with paper kites. All day they are outside and playing with them. At first I thought that they communicate with it because they are doing really strange movements with these kites - but they are just playing :). Even the kites are flying between power lines – nobody cares. J
This is it. The first post about Amazon’s facts was about Amazon’s space-time. People are doing things slowly but happily – it seems to me something like Manana in Spain. J
